By Sea
The Swale runs between the mainland and the lsle of Sheppey in the south of the River Thames Estuary.
It can be accessed (tide permitting) from its west end via the River Medway or from its east end via the River Thames Estuary.
The entrance to Faversham and Oare Creeks is marked by the Faversham Spit cardinal buoy at 51:20.7N,0:54.3E.
Thereafter there are port and starboard hand buoys as far as Hollowshore, the confluence of the two creeks. Oare Creek, to the starboard, then follows the boat moorings on the port hand until the wharf halfway up the creek.
Withies then mark the best navigation until the main Youngboats moorings at the head of Oare Creek.
Access to the creeks is available around +/- 1.5hr HW; there are some full tide mooring buoys just to the west of the Faversham Spit which can be used for waiting for the tide.
